When we talk about the most feared places in the country, Kirikiri maximum security prisons, located in Apapa, Lagos come to mind. is already infamous for their congestion. As at February 1, 1990, had a population of 1,645 but only a rated capacity of 956.
Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison is also infamous for its “degrading” treatment of prisoners , “appalling” living conditions, sub-standard medical care, and a very high death rate. Former BBNaija housemates Teddy A and BamBam have visited the place to spend time with inmates ahead of Teddy’s birthday.
The singer and model revealed that the visit was a move to launch the BamTeddyFoundation on Teddy A’s birthday, June 6th. He said, “It’s no exaggeration when i say i got the best family ever! I wanted to spend time with inmates at the maximum prison as part of my birthday celebration and the launch of The #BamTeddyFoundation to say thank you for a wonderful 2019 so far and to begin a new chapter in my journey. They came through for me like they’ve always done for the past 1 year.
“I was able to donate different items to aid the work processes to help prison inmates make something of themselves when they get out to the real world. Trust me, i know what it’s like being incarcerated, it’s never a good feeling. The stigma, feelings of depression and isolation is one i do not wish upon anybody. Never take the freedom you have today for granted.
The relationship between Bambam and Teddy A is a unique one. Many can recall that their affair started way back in the Double Wahala house, where they were both inseparable and even entertained the audience with their toilet escapades. Following the conclusion of the show, many had expected that their relationship will fickle out but surprisingly, the lovers are still waxing strong and both killing it in the industry.
