Announcing the cancellation, the Organisers said after careful consideration by the Organisers and crew members, the road carnival has to be cancelledsue to recent frequent rainfall and bad weather.
They, therefore apologised to their eager fans and supporters for any inconvenience this decision might have caused them and promised to do better in 2020 edition of the pageant.

We regret to announce that the Nigerian Queen 2019 Road Carnival will no longer hold as earlier scheduled for Saturday 3rd of August 2019.
Nigerian Queen Carnival usually holds in the month of May/June but due to the 2019 election year it was shifted to August, After careful considerations by the organization and crew members on the recent frequent rain fall/bad weather due to the raining season.
We have decided to omit the annual road carnival from the Nigerian Queen 2019 activities. We can not afford to keep our contestants and supporters wet and stranded, should it rain on the day it was earlier scheduled for.
We sincerely apologize for whatever inconvenience this might have brought our fans and supporters. we look forward to a better and bigger Nigerian Queen road carnival come 2020.
The Nigerian Queen 2019 (biggest night of beauty) which is scheduled to hold on the 10th of August 2019 promises to be entertaining and the best of its kind.
