The Nigerian entertainment industry in just two months into the new ear has suffered a number of losses which left the atmosphere worried. While some died at an old age others died at their prime like gospel singer and former Idols West Africa contestant, Eric Arubayi who passed away two weeks ago.
Below are other celebrities who died just too early:
1. Dagrin
Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, also known as Dagrin died at the age of 26. He died at 6:00pm on Thursday, April 22, 2010, exactly eight days after he was involved in a ghastly motor accident in front of Alakara police station, off Agege Motor Road, Mushin, Lagos.
2. Goldie
Susan Oluwabimpe Filani known as Goldie Harvey died at the age of 29. After returning home to Nigeria from the 2013 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, California, she complained of a headache and was rushed to hospital where she was later pronounced dead on February 14, 2013.
3. Bisi Komolafe
The death of Nollywood actress, Bisi Komolafe was reported in the media on December 31, 2012. The circumstances surrounding her death generated several reports and speculations in the media.
However medical reports confirmed that she died of pregnancy related complications at the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
4. CD John
Fast-rising comedian John Chijioke popularly known as CD John died on Thursday, 24 March 2011 at a young age just 3 days to his birthday. Chijioke died few hours after being treated for supposed head injuries at St. Nicholas hospital, Lagos.
5. Chidinma Mbalaso
Chidinma Mbalaso who rose to fame after she participated in Koko Mansion 2009 reality show died in Kaduna at the age of 22 on 25 March 2011.She was involved in a motor accident while on her way back to Abuja, from Kaduna where she had gone to pick up her car, the very first she bought with her money.
6. Eric Arubayi
Arubayi died on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at the Delta state University Teaching Hospital after battling an illness at the age of 33. His brother while speaking revealed that consumption of expired malaria tablet caused of his untimely demise.
7. Muna Obiekwe
The year 2015 started on sad not for Nigerian entertainment industry when popular Nollywood actor, Muna Obiekwe lost his battle to Kidney disease. Muna died on Sunday, January 18, 2015. He died at the age of 36.
